About Qinzhou

Qinzhou is a coastal city in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of southern China, located on the Gulf of Tonkin. The city combines subtropical coastal landscapes with a history of over 2,000 years and is China's center for Nixing pottery — one of the four famous pottery traditions in the country. The Nixing pottery of Qinzhou, along with Yixing (Jiangsu), Jianshui (Yunnan), and Rongchang (Chongqing), is one of the four Great Potteries of China. Made from iron-rich clay from the Qin River, Nixing pottery is characterized by its natural color gradients — each piece is unique. The pottery workshops can be visited. Sanniang Bay is a natural paradise: white sandy beaches, mangrove forests, and offshore islands offer swimming, snorkeling, and birdwatching. The old town of Qinzhou preserves traditional Lingnan architecture with ornate wooden facades and courtyards. The nearby Beihai coast with Silver Beach (30 km of white sand) and Weizhou Island (volcanic island with coral reefs) are popular day trips. Historically, Qinzhou was an important port of the Maritime Silk Road.
