About Yiwu

Yiwu is a district city in Zhejiang Province and hosts the largest market for small commodities in the world. The Yiwu International Trade City encompasses over 75,000 stalls over an area of more than 5.5 million square meters — so large that it would take several days just to visit each stall briefly. The city is a microcosm of globalization: traders from over 200 countries come here to buy toys, Christmas decorations, jewelry, textiles, electronics, and practically every conceivable everyday item at the lowest prices. It is estimated that two-thirds of the world's Christmas decorations are produced in Yiwu and its surroundings. The trading culture has transformed Yiwu into a cosmopolitan city: Arab, African, and Southeast Asian neighborhoods with restaurants, mosques, and cultural associations have organically grown. Exotic Street (Yiguo Fengqing Jie) offers international cuisine from around the world — a fascinating melting pot of cultures. Away from trade, Yiwu surprises with the Xiandiaoyan National Park, a picturesque mountain landscape with cliffs, temples, and hiking trails. The Choujiang Village preserves traditional Zhejiang architecture with white walls and black roofs.
