About Dammam

Dammam is the capital of the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia and the gateway to the most modern region of the Kingdom. The city on the Persian Gulf is part of a metropolitan trio along with Al-Khobar and Dhahran and serves as the economic center of the Saudi oil industry. Since Saudi Vision 2030, Dammam has undergone dramatic changes: the 4-kilometer-long Corniche stretches along the coast with parks, playgrounds, and restaurants with sea views. King Fahd Park is one of the largest urban parks in the Middle East, featuring an artificial lake, mosque, and extensive green spaces. Half Moon Bay, south of the city, offers one of the most beautiful sandy beaches on the Persian Gulf — a crescent-shaped beach with turquoise water, perfect for families. Tarout Island, one of the oldest continuously inhabited islands in the world, lies off the coast and is home to a Portuguese fortress and traditional fishing villages. Dammam is the starting point for excursions to Al-Ahsa — the largest oasis in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage site — with over 3 million date palms, historic forts, and underground lakes.
