Regions at a Glance

Denmark can be divided into four major travel regions, each with its own character:

Copenhagen & Zealand

For whom: City explorers, design fans, cultural travelers, foodies
Denmark's vibrant capital on the Øresund combines world-class gastronomy, iconic design, royal castles, and a legendary cycling culture. On the island of Zealand, you'll also find Kronborg Castle (Hamlet's Castle), Roskilde Cathedral (UNESCO), and the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art.

Jutland

For whom: Beach vacationers, nature lovers, families, active travelers
The Jutland peninsula offers Denmark's wildest nature: the rugged North Sea coast with towering dunes, the natural phenomenon of Skagen at Denmark's northern tip, the cultural city of Aarhus, and historic Ribe. Plus: LEGOLAND in Billund and the endless West Jutland beaches.

Funen & Southern Danish Islands

For whom: Connoisseurs, cyclists, families, fairy tale fans
Hans Christian Andersen's home island with the charming city of Odense, Egeskov Castle, and an idyllic island world. Funen is considered the "Garden of Denmark" — gentle hills, orchards, farm shops, and some of the country's best restaurants.

Bornholm

For whom: Peace seekers, gourmets, art lovers
Denmark's "sunshine island" in the Baltic Sea: round churches, smokehouses, white sandy beaches, granite cliffs, and a thriving art scene. Bornholm has its own microclimate, the most sunshine hours in Denmark, and a local food movement that is second to none.
