The Seasons

Dry Season (June–September): Best Travel Time

The driest phase with the fewest rainy days and the most sunshine. Perfect for outdoor activities, Sentosa beach, and rooftop bars. But even during this time, it can rain — just less frequently and for shorter periods. The Great Singapore Sale (June–August) attracts with discounts in the malls. The National Day Festival (August 9) celebrates Singapore's independence with a spectacular parade and fireworks over Marina Bay.

Northeast Monsoon (December–March): Rainy Season

The rainiest time, especially December and January. Longer rain phases in the afternoon, occasionally all-day rain. However, Singapore is so air-conditioned and covered that rain hardly bothers — most malls, hawker centers, and attractions are indoor or covered. The Chinese New Year (January/February) transforms Chinatown into a sea of lights with parades, fireworks, and feasts — one of the biggest festivals of the year.

Transition Periods (April–May, October–November)

Muggy heat, unpredictable showers, but also spectacular sunsets. October/November brings the Deepavali festival (Festival of Lights in Little India) and the Formula 1 Night Race (September/October) — the only night race on the F1 calendar, running through the illuminated streets of Marina Bay.

💡 Tipp

The best time to travel to Singapore is June to September (driest months), but honestly, Singapore works all year round. Most attractions are indoor or air-conditioned, and the rain rarely lasts longer than an hour. Simply plan outdoor activities for the morning (before the afternoon rain) and indoor attractions for the afternoon.
