The Sea Garden of Burgas is the heart of the city - a sprawling park that stretches two kilometers along the coast and seamlessly transitions into the fine sandy beach. Sculptures, fountains, cafes, and shady avenues make the park the city's most popular meeting point. In summer, festivals, concerts, and open-air performances take place here, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of South French Riviera towns - just without their prices. The true natural wonder of Burgas is its lakes. The city is surrounded by four salt and freshwater lakes, which together form one of Europe's most significant bird reserves. The Atanassow Lake, right next to the city center, shimmers in intense pink when the salt crusts shine in the sun. Flamingos, pelicans, and over 250 other bird species make Burgas a paradise for birdwatchers. The Poda Nature Reserve on the southern shore offers observation huts and guided tours. From Germany, direct flights to Burgas take just under three hours - many charter flights operate the route in summer. The airport is only 15 minutes from the center. The best travel time is from June to September, with Burgas also serving as a starting point for excursions to Sozopol, Nessebar, and the Strandzha Mountains.
