The Four Seasons

Spring (March–May): Tulip Season

The most beautiful season for Amsterdam. From mid-March, crocuses bloom, in April the tulip fields explode, and the Keukenhof opens (mid-March to mid-May). The city awakens: terraces open, Vondelpark fills up, and on April 27th all of Amsterdam celebrates Koningsdag (King's Day) — the country's biggest street party, where the entire city wears orange and turns into a flea market. Temperatures: 8–17°C, still cool, but the energy is infectious.

Summer (June–August): Canal Season

Long, bright days (light until 10 PM!), temperatures up to 25°C, terraces full of people, weekend festivals, and swimming in the IJ. The Pride Parade (early August) with the famous Canal Parade (boats on the canals) is one of the year's highlights. Peak season: Museums and attractions are crowded, accommodations expensive — book early!

Autumn (September–October): Cozy and Golden

The leaves along the canals change color, terraces often remain open until October, and the city becomes quieter and more affordable. Perfect time for museum visits and long walks. Temperatures: 10–18°C. The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) in October is the world's largest electronic music festival.

Winter (November–February): Brown Café Season

Cold (2–7°C), dark, and sometimes rainy — but Amsterdam in winter has its own charm: the Amsterdam Light Festival (November–January) illuminates the canals with light installations, Christmas markets pop up everywhere, and the brown cafés are cozier than ever. Few tourists, affordable prices. If it gets really cold (rarely), the canals freeze over — a magical spectacle.
