Who is Sunny Beach for?
- Party-goers: Sunny Beach is one of the cheapest party destinations in Europe. Clubs like Cacao Beach, Bedroom, and Mania offer international DJs, foam parties, and beach vibes until dawn. A cocktail costs 5–8 BGN (€2.50–4).
- All-Inclusive Families: Away from the party zone, there are quieter sections with family-friendly hotels and water parks (Action Aquapark, from 40 BGN/€20). The wide, gently sloping beach is ideal for children.
- Budget Beach Holidaymakers: A double room in a 3-star hotel from €25/night, a dinner from €5, a beer from 2 BGN (€1) — Sunny Beach is unbeatable in price.
What you should know
Sunny Beach is not a place for cultural travelers or those seeking peace. The development is dense, the architecture functional (hotel blocks from the 1960s to today), and in the peak summer, the beach is full. The restaurants are geared towards mass tourism — for authentic Bulgarian cuisine, it's better to go to Nessebar (3 km) or Sozopol (35 km).
But: The beach is indeed one of the best in Bulgaria — 8 km of fine, golden sand, gently sloping, and awarded the Blue Flag. And the location between Nessebar (to the south) and the Strandja Nature Park (inland) allows for day trips into nature and history.

Sunny Beach is perfect if you're looking for a cheap beach holiday with parties — but it's better to stay in the quieter Nessebar or Ravda and take the bus to Sunny Beach for a day at the beach. This way, you get the best of both worlds: party beach by day, charming old town by night.
