Overview of Regions

Canada spans 9.98 million km² and six time zones. Despite its enormous size, over 80 percent of the population lives within 200 kilometers along the US border. The most important tourist regions:

🏔️ Vancouver & British Columbia

For whom: Nature lovers, gourmets, outdoor enthusiasts
Vancouver is one of the most livable cities in the world: mountains, sea, and skyscrapers in close proximity. Plus Whistler (world-class skiing), Vancouver Island with Victoria, and the wild coast of Tofino. British Columbia is Canada's most spectacular province.

⛰️ Rocky Mountains (Alberta)

For whom: Hikers, photographers, nature lovers
Banff and Jasper National Parks are UNESCO World Heritage sites. Turquoise glacier lakes, snow-capped peaks, grizzly bears, moose, and wapiti — the Canadian Rockies are a natural wonder that must be seen once in a lifetime.

🏙️ Toronto & Ontario

For whom: City travelers, families, culture enthusiasts
Canada's largest city with the CN Tower, Niagara Falls (only 90 minutes away!), the capital Ottawa, and Algonquin Provincial Park for pure wilderness. Ontario is the economic and cultural center of the country.

🏰 Québec

For whom: Culture travelers, gourmets, history enthusiasts
The only French-speaking province in Canada: Montréal with its legendary gastronomy and nightlife, Québec City with the only fortified old town north of Mexico (UNESCO), the Laurentides for skiing, and whales in the Saint Lawrence River.

🌊 Atlantic Canada

For whom: Individual travelers, road trip fans, those seeking peace
Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland — the four Atlantic provinces are Canada's best-kept secret. Rugged coasts, colorful fishing villages, lighthouses, icebergs off Newfoundland, and the friendliest people in the country.
