Climate Overview
New York has a humid continental climate — which means: hot summers and cold winters. The city is on the same latitude as Naples but has a significantly more extreme climate. The reason: no protective mountains to the west, and the Gulf Stream warms the Atlantic but also brings moisture.
| Month | Temperature | Rainy Days | Daylight |

Extreme Weather: Summers can reach over 35°C with high humidity — the street canyons heat up, the subway is an oven. Winters bring snowstorms (Nor'easters), and wind chill temperatures can drop to -15°C. Spring and autumn are the golden middle.
