What does Scotland cost?

Scotland is somewhat cheaper than London and southern England, but still not a bargain. Prices are about 15–25% above the German level, heavily dependent on region and season. Edinburgh in August (Festival) is the most expensive. The Highlands and islands are surprisingly affordable for accommodations, but more expensive for groceries (logistics). The current exchange rate (approx. £1 ≈ €1.15–1.20) amplifies the effect.
