About Lovina
Lovina is Bali's tranquil northern coast — the exact opposite of the hectic south with its surfer beaches and party miles. While Kuta, Seminyak, and Canggu are becoming increasingly crowded, Lovina offers black volcanic sand beaches, calm seas, dolphin-rich waters, and prices reminiscent of Bali 20 years ago. The famous dolphin tours at sunrise are Lovina's trademark: hundreds of spinner dolphins frolic off the northern coast, and a boat ride at 6 a.m. gives you nearly a 100 percent chance of seeing them jumping and playing. The experience — dolphins against the backdrop of a tropical sunrise over the Bali Sea — is magical. The hot springs of Banjar (Air Panas Banjar) are just 15 minutes from Lovina: volcanically heated water flows from dragon mouth sculptures into three terraced stone pools, surrounded by tropical vegetation. Bathing in 38 °C warm, sulfurous water amidst frangipani trees is pure Balinese relaxation. From Lovina, you can easily reach the spectacular waterfalls of the north: Sekumpul Falls, Bali's most beautiful waterfall, plunges in twin cascades 80 meters deep. The Git Git waterfall and the Munduk waterfalls are also doable on day trips.
