Corfu Town is the most elegant city of the Greek islands — a UNESCO World Heritage site that combines Venetian, French, and British influences into a unique architectural cocktail. In August, the city celebrates its famous Assumption of Mary festival with processions and the spectacular throwing of Vasilopita from the windows. From Germany, Corfu can be reached in just 2.5 flight hours — many direct connections in summer. The city is the perfect base for beach days at the nearby bays of Paleokastritsa and Glyfada.
