Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, is a hidden gem among European capitals — a compact, green city on the Ljubljanica River that feels like a mix of Prague and Vienna, but without the crowds. The architect Joze Plecnik gave the city a unique face in the 20th century: the Triple Bridge, the market halls, and the riverside promenade bear his signature.
