Budget & Costs

Brazil is more expensive than many other South American countries, but still significantly cheaper than Europe. The Real has depreciated against the Euro in recent years, making Brazil more attractive for European travelers.

💡 Tipp

The "Prato feito" or "PF" is Brazil's cheapest complete lunch: rice, beans, meat, salad, and often fries for 15–30 BRL (2.50–5€). Even cheaper: "Comida por quilo" (kilo restaurants), where you assemble your meal at the buffet and pay by weight. Available everywhere at lunchtime.
