Music & Nightlife
Havana has one of the best music scenes in the world — and Vedado is its center. From legendary jazz clubs to salsa dance venues to Cuba's coolest cultural spot: Here, no one goes to bed before 3 AM.
The Best Locations
- Fábrica de Arte Cubano (FAC): Havana's absolute highlight — a former oil factory converted into a multidisciplinary cultural center: art exhibitions, live concerts, DJ sets, cinema, bar, and dance floor on several floors. Entrance: 2 USD. Thu–Sun from 8 PM. The line can be long — come early. Tip: This is the only place in Cuba where you meet the Cuban avant-garde.
- La Zorra y El Cuervo: Havana's best jazz club — the entrance is an English phone booth on Calle 23 (La Rampa). Behind it: a basement club with the finest Cuban jazz. Entrance: 10 USD with a drink.
- Casa de la Música de Miramar: The best salsa in Havana — large dance stage, live bands (Los Van Van, Havana D'Primera), affordable drinks. Here, Cubans dance, not tourists. Entrance: 5–10 USD. Matinee shows in the afternoon (less crowded, same quality).
- Tropicana: The legendary cabaret under the open sky — since 1939, Cuba's most spectacular show: over 200 dancers, sequins, feathers, music, and palm garden. Touristy and expensive (from 70 USD with drinks), but an experience like no other.
- Malecón: The cheapest option — from 9 PM, young Cubans bring speakers and rum and celebrate on the seawall. No entrance fees, just the bottle of rum.
💡 Tipp
The perfect evening in Vedado: Sunset at the Malecón (6:30 PM), Mojito on the terrace of the Hotel Nacional (7:30 PM), dinner at the Paladar (9 PM), then Fábrica de Arte Cubano (10:30 PM). If you still have energy: Salsa at the Casa de la Música until 3 AM.
