Climate Overview
Hong Kong has a subtropical climate with four distinctly different seasons — unlike most tropical cities in Southeast Asia. Summers are hot and humid (up to 35°C and 99% humidity), winters are mild and dry (15–20°C). Spring is foggy, autumn is golden.

Typhoons: Hong Kong is located in the typhoon belt. The typhoon season runs from June to October, with most storms occurring in August and September. At typhoon signal 8 (T8), the city comes to a standstill: shops close, public transport stops, flights are canceled. However, the city has a top-notch warning system, and buildings are built to withstand typhoons. Panic is unnecessary — respect is essential.
