Markets & Food Halls
Time Out Market (Mercado da Ribeira)
Lisbon's culinary capital under one roof: 40 stalls with the best of Portugal, curated by Time Out magazine. From Michelin-starred chefs to traditional petiscos — all at long communal tables. Highlights: Alexandre Silva (Michelin chef), Manteigaria (Pastéis de Nata), Sea Me (sushi and seafood). Main courses: €7–15. On weekends: packed. Best time: Tuesday/Wednesday at lunchtime.
Mercado de Campo de Ourique
The quieter, more local alternative to the Time Out Market — in the residential district of Campo de Ourique, away from tourist crowds. Fresh produce, good restaurants, and a relaxed atmosphere. Here, Lisboetas eat, not tourists.
Feira da Ladra
Lisbon's legendary flea market in Alfama (Tuesdays and Saturdays, around Campo de Santa Clara). Antiques, vintage items, old azulejos, books, records, and many curiosities. Not a food market, but an experience. Haggling is common and expected.
