Miraflores & Barranco

★★★ Malecón de Miraflores

The 10-kilometer-long cliff promenade above the Pacific is Lima's most beautiful walking path. Joggers, cyclists, couples, and paragliders share the path that runs from Miraflores to Barranco. At sunset, the sky turns spectacular colors. The Parque del Amor (Love Park) with the sculpture "El Beso" by Victor Delfin and the Gaudí-style mosaic benches is the most romantic spot in Lima.

★★ Huaca Pucllana

In the middle of Miraflores, a 1,500-year-old adobe pyramid from the Lima culture (200–700 AD) rises among modern residential buildings. The nighttime lighting makes an evening visit particularly atmospheric. The restaurant next to the ruin offers upscale Peruvian cuisine with views of the illuminated pyramid — one of Lima's most unforgettable dining settings.

Calle General Borgoño, Miraflores. 15 PEN. Wed–Mon 9:00–17:00, night tours Wed–Sun 19:00–22:00. Only with guided tour.

★★ Larcomar

A shopping and entertainment center built into the cliffs with ocean views. Worth a visit not for the shops, but for the spectacular location above the Pacific. Experience the sunset with a Pisco Sour on the terrace in the evening.

★★★ Barranco

Lima's soul resides in Barranco. The former fishing village is now Lima's most creative district: colorful colonial houses, street art on every corner, galleries, cafes, and the best bar scene in the city.

  • Puente de los Suspiros (Bridge of Sighs): The famous 19th-century wooden bridge — legend has it that a wish will come true if you cross it holding your breath.
  • MATE — Museo Mario Testino: The museum of the famous Peruvian fashion photographer in a restored colonial villa. Changing exhibitions of contemporary art.
  • Bajada de los Baños: The old path to the beach, lined with colorful houses and street art.

★★ Pachacamac

30 km south of Lima lies the largest archaeological site of the coastal region: an oracle and pilgrimage center used by various cultures for over 1,000 years (200–1533 AD). The Incas made it one of the most important sanctuaries of their empire. The modern museum showcases spectacular finds, including the wooden idol of Pachacamac.

Antigua Panamericana Sur km 31.5. 15 PEN. Tue–Sat 9:00–17:00, Sun 9:00–16:00. By taxi or tour from Lima (approx. 1h).
