Swiss Museum of Transport★★
The most visited museum in Switzerland — and one of the best transport and technology museums in the world. A must-visit for families, a paradise for technology fans.
★★★ Swiss Museum of Transport
On 20,000 m² of exhibition space by the lakeside: locomotives (including the original Crocodile locomotive), airplanes (a Swissair DC-3 to board), cars, ships, and a planetarium. Particularly impressive: the Swissarena — a walkable satellite map of Switzerland (200 m², resolution 1 pixel = 50 cm) and the film theater (IMAX-like, largest screen in Switzerland). For children: simulators, model railways, and a huge play area.
Lidostrasse 5. 34 CHF (adults), 22 CHF (children 6–16). Film theater + planetarium each 16 CHF extra (combo tickets cheaper). Free with Swiss Travel Pass! Daily 10 am–5 pm (summer until 6 pm).
★ Chocolat Aventure
Integrated into the Swiss Museum of Transport: the chocolate adventure world by Lindt — an interactive tour through the history of Swiss chocolate with tasting at the end. Enthralling for both children and adults.
💡 Tipp
The Swiss Museum of Transport is huge — plan at least 3–4 hours. Families with children need a whole day. Admission is free with the Swiss Travel Pass (film theater and planetarium cost extra). Best to visit during the week — it's crowded on weekends and during holidays.
