ETA / Visa
German, Austrian, and Swiss citizens require an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization), which must be applied for online before entry.

Important Notes
- Use only the official website! There are numerous fraudulent websites offering the ETA at inflated prices.
- Extension: The ETA can be extended at the Department of Immigration in Colombo to up to 90 days (an additional 25 USD).
- Passport: Must be valid for at least 6 months upon entry.
Achtung
Use ONLY the official ETA website of the Department of Immigration and Emigration. Third-party providers often charge double or triple the official price. Do not simply search “Sri Lanka ETA” on Google — the first results are often paid ads from third-party providers.
