Restaurants
- The Test Kitchen (Woodstock) — For a long time Africa's best restaurant (ranked 1st, 2016–2019). Innovative South African cuisine by Luke Dale-Roberts. Book months in advance!
- La Colombe (Constantia) — Romantic fine dining in the Constantia vineyards. French-Asian fusion with local ingredients. Tasting menu from 1,200 ZAR (€60).
- Pot Luck Club (Woodstock) — Tapas-style sharing dishes in an old silo with panoramic views. From the same chef as Test Kitchen, but more relaxed.
- Gold Restaurant (Green Point) — 14-course African cuisine menu with live music and drumming. Touristy, but grand. 650 ZAR (€33).
- Mzansi Restaurant (Khayelitsha) — Authentic township cuisine: Mogodu (tripe), Umngqusho (samp & beans), Chakalaka. A genuine experience off the beaten tourist path.
Markets
- Old Biscuit Mill (Neighbourgoods Market, Woodstock) — Saturdays 9 am–2 pm. Cape Town's hipster gourmet market. Busy, loud, fantastic.
- Bay Harbour Market (Hout Bay) — Fri–Sun. More relaxed than the Biscuit Mill, with live music and views of the harbor.
- Oranjezicht City Farm Market (Granger Bay) — Saturdays. Organic produce, fresh juice, local coffee. Cape Town's healthiest market.
