Tourist Tax (Imposta di Soggiorno)
Almost all Italian cities and tourist destinations charge a tourist tax (Imposta di Soggiorno), calculated per person per night:

The tax is paid directly at the reception upon check-out (often cash only!). Children under 10–14 years are usually exempt (varies by city). The highest rates: Rome, Venice, Florence.
