Entry & eVisa
eVisa — Convenient Online
Germans, Austrians, and Swiss need a visa for Oman, which can be conveniently applied for online as an eVisa:

- Processing usually within 24 hours, sometimes immediately
- Print the eVisa or have it as a PDF on your phone
Entry via the UAE
Many travelers combine Dubai/Abu Dhabi with Oman. The land border at Hatta/Al Ain is easily passable — you need both the UAE visa (free on entry for Germans) and the Oman eVisa. The border crossing can be busy on weekends (Fri/Sat).
Required Documents
- Passport: Valid for at least 6 months beyond the end of the trip
- eVisa: Printed or digital
- Return ticket: May be requested
- ID card is NOT sufficient
💡 Tipp
The 10-day visa for only 5 OMR (€12) is a bargain — enough for an intensive tour of the north (Muscat, Nizwa, Wahiba Sands, Wadis, Sur). For a more comprehensive trip including Salalah or Musandam, take the 30-day visa. WARNING: The eVisa system can be slow — apply at least 1 week before departure, not on the last day!
