LGBTQ+ — Practical Tips
Thailand is one of the friendliest countries in Asia for LGBTQ+ travelers. Same-sex marriage has been legal since 2024. Discrimination in tourism is practically non-existent.
Practical Tips
- Hotels: Double rooms for same-sex couples are not a problem anywhere — no one will ask or comment.
- Public Behavior: As for all couples in Thailand: Restraint in public. Holding hands is okay, kissing is not (also uncommon for heterosexual couples).
- Bangkok Pride: Annually in June, now one of the largest Pride events in Asia with over 50,000 participants.
- Apps: Grindr, Hornet, and Blued are widespread and active in Thailand.
