You should have these sentences ready in an emergency — write them on a card that you carry in your wallet:

Achtung
Emergency number for the tourist police: 1155 (English-speaking, 24/7). Save this number NOW in your phone. In an emergency, the regular police (191) often only speak Thai — the tourist police are a better point of contact for foreigners.
