Northwest (NOA)
The northwest of Argentina — NOA (Noroeste Argentino) — is the most colorful and culturally rich region of the country: The Quebrada de Humahuaca (UNESCO) with its rainbow mountains, the colonial beauty of Salta, the seven-colored mountain of Purmamarca, the endless expanse of the Salinas Grandes, and the Tren a las Nubes at over 4,000 meters altitude. Here, Argentina is at its most Andean — coca leaves, Pachamama, and Quena music instead of tango and steak.
