CN Tower — Toronto's Landmark★★★
The CN Tower was the tallest free-standing structure in the world from its opening in 1976 until 2007—553.3 meters of concrete, steel, and engineering that define Toronto's skyline. Even though it has long been surpassed by skyscrapers in Dubai and China, it remains the undisputed landmark of the city and one of the modern Seven Wonders of the World.
There are three observation levels: The Main Observation Level (346 m) with the famous Glass Floor—you stand on a transparent surface and look 346 meters straight down to the street. Not for the faint-hearted, but an unforgettable experience. The SkyPod (447 m) is the highest public observation platform in the Western Hemisphere. And the EdgeWalk—a hands-free walk on a 1.5-meter-wide platform at the outer ring of the tower top at 356 meters high, harnessed but without a railing. It's not an observation point, it's an adrenaline rush.
In the 360° Restaurant (351 m), the floor rotates once every 72 minutes. The food is surprisingly good (Canadian cuisine with a view of Lake Ontario), and those who dine in the restaurant get free entry to the observation deck. In the evening, when the city lights up beneath you, it's particularly spectacular.
💡 Tipp
Reserve a table at the 360° Restaurant at sunset—the dinner costs from 65 CAD per person, but the entry to the observation deck (43 CAD) is included. This way you save and get the best experience: daylight, sunset, AND night panorama.
