Jasmine Garden · Orchid Magu — Sri Lankan and Maldivian cuisine. Rice with a selection of curries (fish, chicken, vegetables) for 50–80 MVR (3–5 $). Portions are huge, taste is authentic. Also available for takeaway. Daily 7:00 am–11:00 pm.
Royal Garden Café · Ameeru Ahmed Magu — Indian and Maldivian cuisine, Biryani (60 MVR), Tandoori Chicken (80 MVR), all Hedhikaa. Breakfast: Mas Huni + Roshi + Sai for 25 MVR (1.60 $). 6:00 am–11:00 pm.

The Sea House · Boduthakurufaanu Magu (North Quay) — Right by the water next to the fish market. Fresh fish, seafood, sushi selection. Grilled Tuna Steak 120 MVR (8 $), Lobster 350 MVR (23 $). Thai Wok · Ameenee Magu — Surprisingly authentic Thai cuisine in the heart of Malé. Pad Thai 100 MVR (6.50 $), Green Curry 120 MVR (8 $), Tom Yum Soup 80 MVR (5 $). Fresh ingredients, correct seasoning. 11:00 am–10:30 pm.

Olive Garden · Ameer Ahmed Magu — Not the US chain, but a high-quality Mediterranean restaurant. Stone oven pizza 150–200 MVR (10–13 $), pasta 120–180 MVR (8–12 $), steak 350 MVR (23 $). Air-conditioned, quiet, professional service. 11:00 am–11:00 pm.
Koamas Restaurant · Hulhumalé — One of the best restaurants outside the city center. Maldivian fine dining, fresh fish creatively prepared, sea view. Tasting menu from 500 MVR (32 $). Evenings only, 7:00 pm–10:30 pm.
