The Four Seasons

Spring (March–May): The Perfect Travel Time

Marrakech in spring is ideal: 22–30°C, the gardens are in bloom, roses in the Ourika Valley are harvested (the famous rose festival in Kelâat M'Gouna is in May), and the temperatures allow for all-day sightseeing. The souks are lively but not overcrowded. April and May offer the best value for money.

Summer (June–August): Only for the Heat Resistant

The summer heat in Marrakech is legendary and relentless: 35–45°C, dry air, hardly any wind. During the day, the souks are deserted, and the city takes a siesta. However: lowest prices, empty riads, and sunsets that set the sky ablaze. Tip: Go out early in the morning (7–11 am), spend the afternoon by the pool or in a hammam, and head to the Djemaa el-Fna in the evening.

Autumn (September–November): Golden Time

September is still hot, but from October it becomes perfect: 20–28°C, clear skies, golden light. The winter tourist crowds have not yet arrived, and the heat has broken. October and November are the second-best travel times — ideal for the Atlas and the desert.

Winter (December–February): Mild and Popular

Marrakech in winter: 10–20°C during the day, at night it can drop to 5°C. Pleasant for sightseeing, but you'll need a jacket in the evening. Christmas and New Year's are peak season — the riads are fully booked and prices rise. The Atlas is snow-covered in winter — a spectacular sight from the rooftop terraces of the Medina.

💡 Tipp

The absolute best travel time is March/April or October/November: pleasant temperatures, fewer tourists, and perfect light for photography. Those visiting in summer should plan their day like the locals: get up early, take a midday siesta, and live in the evening.
