Budget & Costs
Oman is not a budget travel destination — the price level is significantly higher than in Jordan, Egypt, or Morocco and is comparable to Dubai or the Emirates. The strong Omani Rial (OMR, pegged to the US dollar) makes the country more expensive for Europeans than most Arab travel destinations.

💡 Tipp
The biggest budget advantage in Oman: Gasoline is extremely cheap (about €0.53/liter). A rental car for 2 weeks costs less with fuel than 5 organized day tours. Additionally, Omani coffee and dates are available for free in many hotels and shops — this is not advertising, but hospitality.
