Lost Passport
In case of passport loss, immediately file a police report (at the nearest PSP or GNR station) and then contact the embassy. The embassy can issue a temporary travel document. For this, a passport photo and a copy of the lost passport are needed — therefore always send a digital copy of the passport to the cloud or email it to yourself.
Achtung
Register with the crisis prevention list (elefand.diplo.de) of the Federal Foreign Office before your trip. This allows the embassy to reach you more quickly in an emergency (natural disaster, crisis).
