Marina Bay Sands
The Marina Bay Sands (MBS) is Singapore's most iconic building — and one of the most expensive buildings ever constructed (estimated construction cost: 8 billion SGD). Three 57-story towers support a 340 m long, boat-shaped SkyPark on the roof, where the world's most famous Infinity Pool is located (accessible only to hotel guests). The building houses a hotel (2,561 rooms), a casino, a shopping mall, a museum, a convention center, and over 80 restaurants.
SkyPark Observation Deck
Even without a hotel room, you can visit the SkyPark: The Observation Deck on the 57th floor (entrance: 26 SGD) offers a 360° panoramic view over Marina Bay, the skyline, Gardens by the Bay, the harbor, and on clear days, as far as Malaysia and Indonesia. Best just before sunset — when the city shifts from gold to neon.
Spectra — the Light and Water Show
Every evening (20:00 and 21:00, Fri/Sat also 22:00) the free Spectra Show takes place at the Event Plaza in front of the MBS: Water fountains, laser beams, light columns, and music in a 15-minute show that dances across the bay. Best spot: the steps at the Waterfront Promenade opposite.
💡 Tipp
The Infinity Pool is only for hotel guests — but there's a hack: The rooftop bar CÉ LA VI on the SkyPark is publicly accessible (no minimum spend in the afternoon). A cocktail there (from 25 SGD) offers the same view as the pool — just without the swimsuit.
