Entry & Visa
EU Citizens
As an EU citizen, you need no visa. Slovenia is a Schengen member and part of the Eurozone — you only need a valid ID card or passport. No border controls when entering from other Schengen states. Stay: unlimited for EU citizens.
Swiss Citizens
Same rules as EU citizens (Schengen Agreement). Passport or ID is sufficient.
Currency
Slovenia has the Euro (€) — since 2007. No currency exchange needed. Card payments (Visa, Mastercard) are almost everywhere possible, even in smaller places. Cash is only necessary at weekly markets and some small country inns. ATMs (bankomati) are available in all towns.
