From the Airport to the Center
| Option | Price | Duration | Note |
|---|---|---|---|

| CAT (City Airport Train) | 12€ | 16 min. to Wien Mitte | Fast, comfortable, but expensive for 9 min. savings. |
| Taxi/Uber/Bolt | 25–40€ | 20–35 min. | Fixed price to the center: approx. 36€. Uber/Bolt often cheaper. |
Arrival by Train
Vienna is excellently connected by train — the Vienna Central Station (Hbf, opened in 2014) is modern and central:
- From Munich: Railjet, approx. 4 hours. Spectacular route via Salzburg. From 19€ with saver fare.
- From Berlin: ICE/Railjet, approx. 5.5 hours (direct connection via Leipzig). Night train (ÖBB Nightjet): from 30€.
- From Frankfurt: ICE, approx. 6.5 hours. Night train recommended.
- From Prague: Railjet, approx. 4 hours. From 15€.
- From Budapest: Railjet, approx. 2.5 hours. From 14€.
The ÖBB Nightjet (night train) is an excellent option from Germany — in a sleeper or couchette car overnight, arriving in Vienna well-rested in the morning.
💡 Tipp
The S7 from the airport is the smartest option: 4.40€, directly to Wien Mitte (transfer to U3/U4) and the ticket is valid for the entire Vienna public transport system from the airport. The CAT (12€) only saves 9 minutes — better to invest the money in Sachertorte.
