- 112 works from any mobile phone, even without a SIM card and without credit
- The Tourist Police (171) speaks English and helps with all problems — from fraud to lost passports to rental car issues. Very helpful!
- In case of a car accident: ALWAYS call the police (even for minor accidents) and insist on a report — the insurance needs it
- The app "112 Greece" (iOS + Android) sends your GPS location directly to the emergency control center
