Stanley Park is not an ordinary city park — it is a 405-hectare primeval forest on a peninsula, surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and the Coast Mountains. Open to the public since 1888, it is one of the largest and most beautiful urban parks in the world. Giant cedars, over 500 years old, stand alongside First Nations totem poles, while raccoons and bald eagles live in the treetops.

The centerpiece is the Seawall — a 9-kilometer paved path that encircles the entire peninsula. By bike or on foot, you can experience Vancouver's full beauty here: views of the downtown skyline, the Lions Gate Bridge (Vancouver's Golden Gate), the North Shore Mountains, and the cargo ships in the harbor. On clear days, you can see as far as Mount Baker in Washington State.

Within the park itself: the Vancouver Aquarium (Canada's largest, featuring beluga whales and sea otters), the Brockton Point Totem Poles (nine impressive carvings by various First Nations peoples), Third Beach (the quietest beach with a spectacular sunset), and Prospect Point (a viewpoint overlooking the Lions Gate Bridge).

💡 Tipp

Rent a bike at the Denman Street entrance (from 8 CAD/hour) and ride the Seawall counterclockwise — this way you have the best view. Plan for 2–3 hours. It's quietest in the morning before 10 AM.
