Opening Hours
Norwegian opening hours are shorter than in Germany — especially on Saturdays and Sundays:
| Facility | Mon–Fri | Saturday | Sunday |
|---|---|---|---|
| Supermarkets | 7:00–23:00 | 8:00–21:00 | closed* |
| Shops | 10:00–18:00 | 10:00–15:00 | closed |
| Banks | 9:00–15:30 | closed | closed |
| Vinmonopolet | 10:00–18:00 | 10:00–15:00 | closed |
| Restaurants | 11:00–22:00 | 11:00–22:00 | 12:00–22:00 |
| Museums | 10:00–17:00 | 10:00–17:00 | 11:00–17:00 |
* Small supermarkets (Joker, Bunnpris) may open on Sundays if they have less than 100 m² of retail space.
💡 Tipp
Saturday is the shortest shopping day in Norway — many shops close at 3 pm, Vinmonopolet as well. If you need wine or spirits, buy by Friday 6 pm or Saturday 3 pm — Vinmonopolet is closed on Sundays!
