Budget & Costs
Cyprus is cheaper than Greece, but not a budget destination. The south is more expensive than the north, with tourist hotspots like Ayia Napa being significantly more expensive than mountain villages in the Troodos.

North Cyprus: 30–40% cheaper
In the north, food, accommodations, and activities are significantly cheaper. A complete lunch with a drink for €8–12 is normal. Hotels cost 40–70% less than comparable ones in the south. Payment is in Turkish Lira (TRY), but euros are accepted almost everywhere — usually at a worse rate.
💡 Tipp
Meze is the best value for money in Cyprus: For €18–25 per person, you get 20–30 different dishes and will be completely full. Always order for two or more!
