Noosa — Relaxed Beach Life★★
Noosa is Queensland's most elegant beach town — where surfers meet millionaires and both go to brunch in flip-flops. Located on the Sunshine Coast, Noosa offers a rare combination: a north-facing beach (protected from southerly winds, hence always calm), a national park right on the city beach, top-notch restaurants, and a relaxed, nature-oriented atmosphere without the high-rises of the Gold Coast.
The Noosa National Park begins at the eastern end of the main beach and offers short, spectacular coastal walking trails through eucalyptus forest with koalas (!) — the 5.4 km Coastal Walk leads to hidden bays like Tea Tree Bay (ideal for snorkeling) and Granite Bay. Koala sightings are almost guaranteed on the trails — look up into the eucalyptus trees!
Hastings Street is Noosa's main street — a short, palm-lined promenade with boutiques, galleries, and some of the best restaurants on the Sunshine Coast. Everything is within walking distance, forget about the car.

💡 Tipp
Noosa is crowded and expensive during the Australian summer (Dec–Feb) — avoid the school holidays. In the Australian autumn (March–May), the temperatures are perfect (25–28 °C), the water is warm, and the crowds are gone. The Noosa National Park Coastal Walk at 7 a.m. is magical — just you and the koalas.
