Electricity & Adapters
The USA uses 110 volts / 60 Hz with plug types A (two flat pins) and B (two flat + one round grounding pin). German plugs do not fit!
- Adapter: Bring a US travel adapter (from €3 at electronics stores). Ideally one with USB ports
- Voltage: Most modern chargers (phone, laptop, camera) are dual-voltage (100–240V) — work fine with an adapter
- Be cautious with: Hairdryers, curling irons, razors with 220V — these do NOT work or only with a voltage converter. Best to buy locally (Walmart, Target from $10)
