Basic Vocabulary
In Tunisia, you can get by very well with French. But a few words of Tunisian Arabic (Derja) will bring a smile to every Tunisian's face — and open doors that would otherwise remain closed.

Tipp
The magic formula when bargaining: "Ghali bezef!" (Too expensive!) with a smile. And after every purchase: "Shukran bezef!" (Thank you very much!). Tunisians love it when foreigners try their language — even if the pronunciation is off.
