Tipping
Tipping (propina) is not mandatory in Spain, but appreciated. There is no fixed rule, but the following guidelines:

| Restaurant | 5–10% of the bill | More for excellent service; in star restaurants rather 10–15% |
| Bar/Cafe | Leave small change or round up | 0.20–1 € for coffee/beer |
| Taxi | Round up to the next euro | For airport transfers 2–5 € extra |
| Hotel/Room Service | 1–2 € per day | On the pillow or nightstand |
| Tour Guide/Guide | 5–10 € per person | For full-day excursions |
Important: Tips are always given in cash on Mallorca — even if you pay by card. Leave the tip in coins or small bills on the table or in the tip dish (platillo).
