Christuskirche★★
The landmark of Windhoek and one of the most photographed buildings in Namibia. The Evangelical Lutheran Church sits atop a hill above Independence Avenue, combining neo-Romanesque and Art Nouveau elements into a unique structure.
Built 1907–1910 from local sandstone as a peace church after the devastating Herero and Nama uprising, it is an architectural gem with colorful stained glass windows personally donated by Kaiser Wilhelm II. The church is now a protected monument and still holds German-language services.
Right next to it are the Tintenpalast (Namibia's parliament building, named after the "ink of the bureaucrats") and the well-kept parliament garden — a green oasis with benches and old trees, ideal for a short break.
