Electricity & Sockets
Indonesia uses 230 V alternating current, 50 Hz — like in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
The sockets are Type C (Europlug, two-pin) and Type F (Schuko with grounding). Travelers from the DACH region usually do not need an adapter.
In budget accommodations and older buildings, the sockets can sometimes be loose — a travel plug adapter with a firm fit can be useful.
Power outages are not uncommon in rural areas (Amed, Sidemen, Munduk) — a flashlight or power bank for the phone is recommended.
